Bodyweight Squats
1. Stand with your feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
2. Position your toes so that they are pointed out slightly. The angle should match that of your thighs, or the toes and knees should be pointed out to the same degree.
3. Cross your arms and place your hands on the opposite shoulder (or as seen in the pictures, arms in front of you)
4. Begin the descent by bending the knees. Do not allow the knees to pass in front of the toes.
5. Slightly lean forward at the waist as you descend.
6. Descend until your thighs are parallel to the floor, then begin ascending.
7. Repeat rep cycle until fatigued or until rep goals have been achieved.
8. Maintain a neutral arch in the spine at all times, especially on the descent. This may be helped by keeping your chest out.

Is cardio the best way to get toned? I'm a mom just starting to get back into working out after a long layoff off due to work and family commitments. I haven't been to the gym in a little over 2 years even though I kept the membership and I feel like I'm starting from scratch. I need to lose about 30 pounds and want to shape up as soon as possible.
Is it possible to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time?
